Under the Kalevala Sky – A Story Journey at Telkkämäki Heritage Farm

The Kalevala, Finland's national epic, brings to life the starry sky inscribed with ancient Finnish myths at the landscapes of Telkkämäki Heritage Farm. Above us stretches a northern sky filled with stories—tales of the creation of the world, the origins of humanity.

On this guided story tour, you will get to know the stories of the starry sky familiar from the tales of the Kalevala. Through the stories, the starry sky reveals a shared beginning of humanity and a cosmic order where nature, people, and the sacred are deeply connected.

This guiding tour will show you how the slash-and-burn farmer used his mythical knowledge to cultivate this land. The spells he used told of the ancient world order and beliefs with which he believed he could rule the world.

This journey offers a unique way to understand Finnish mythology, northern storytelling traditions, and the deep bond between people and the natural world—beneath the timeless glow of the Kalevala sky.
