In the advanced canoeing course, we study both theory and practice. The goal is to develop canoeing skills and canoeing technique so that the student can cope with longer canoeing trips and understand the importance of safety and equipment in canoeing.
In the advanced canoeing course, we study both theory and practice. The aim of the advanced canoeing course is that the course participant will gain sufficient knowledge and skills to participate in longer canoeing trips and can develop canoeing skills and deeply understand the importance of safety in canoeing.
The course will teach rescue and canoeing techniques in particular. At the beginning of the course, the basic techniques for handling a canoe on the water will be reviewed.
In the course, we will practice map reading, distance estimation, using a compass, deviation and identifying the current location using a map and landscape. You do not need previous experience in orienteering.
Canoeing skills: We will practice various kayak steering techniques, side sliding, high brace and Cross Bow Rudder / Cross Bow Duffek and asymmetrical paddle grip as well as kayak tilting and capsizing. The course focuses on practicing various rescue techniques.
